Out take on the grand institution

Served with a hint of theatre from the trolley.

The luxury of time

Afternoon tea has always been about the luxury of time, stolen hours when the world can wait. It marked the transition from formality to pleasure: cards on the table, good conversation, better company, and tea poured with intent.

Pick from the traditional afternoon tea or add a glass of English sparkling wine.

  • Traditional afternoon tea - £40 per person
  • Sparkling afternoon tea - £50 per person

Served between 1pm and 3:30pm.

Please note bookings must be made in advance, walk-ins are not available.

The menu

We've taken our approach to our city's Georgian culture, and this particular brand of indulgence. Where modern pastry, from Chef Pâtissier Dominique Bon meets proper tea, hand-blended from Gillard of Bath, and the only agenda is enjoying both.
A platter of sandwiches, with our heath at the centre, rare roast beef and homemade horseradish or beetroot jam and roasted red pepper sandwiches, accompanied by classic warm scones served with strawberry jam and clotted cream.
Then, the trolley rolls up with colours of the time, matcha and azuki bean roll, foraged black forest gateau, a moment for selection, because picking what defines the occasion.
Book your table, settle in, and remember what it feels like to have absolutely nowhere else to be.
