You can book a table at Penningtons quickly and easily online via our website HERE. Choose your preferred date, time, and party size, and you’ll receive instant confirmation.

We recommend booking in advance, especially for evenings and weekends, as we can get busy.

To cancel an online booking, just click on the link in your booking confirmation email and follow the steps. Please try to give us as much notice as possible.

Emberwood is open seven days a week with the following hours:

Monday to Thursday: 12:00–15:00 and 17:00–22:00
Friday to Saturday: 12:00–22:00 
Sunday: 12:00–16:00 (Sunday roast menu) and 17:00–22:00 (à la carte menu)

No. Our car park is currently unavailable during our renovation. Many guests choose Charlotte Street car park, which is just a short walk away. 

Yes. Please inform us of any allergies when making your reservation so we can prepare accordingly. Our kitchen team can provide ingredient information and take steps to avoid cross-contact, though we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. When dining in our restaurant, please also inform your server of any allergies so they can take appropriate precautions.

Of course. We want children to enjoy Emberwood as much as you do, so we have created a menu of homemade, locally sourced favourites. You relax and they tuck in.

The Francis Hotel and Emberwood Brasserie and Bar operate on a cashless basis to provide faster, safer, and more convenient service. We accept all major debit and credit cards, as well as contactless payment methods. If you need assistance with payment options, our front-of-house team will be happy to help.

We certainly do serve afternoon tea. Pull up a chair, choose your favourite blend, and let our team take care of the rest. Savour freshly prepared sandwiches and homemade scones and cakes. For an extra touch of decadence, elevate the experience with a glass of British sparkling wine.

Yes. We welcome well-behaved dogs in selected areas of Emberwood.

A limited number of dog-friendly tables are available for lunch and dinner and must be booked in advance. Please let us know when making your reservation if you'll be bringing your dog, and we'll reserve one of these tables where available.

Hotel residents are also welcome to enjoy breakfast with their dog in our bar, lounge or snug.

For the comfort of all our guests, dogs must remain on a lead at all times, stay off the furniture, and never be left unattended. If a dog becomes disruptive or unsettles other guests, our team may ask that it be taken outside.
